Driving sustainability: Electrification of our TMX150 units 🚀 - Funded by the European Union - NextGenerationEU

At Air Rail, we continue to promote sustainability with the electrification of two TMX150 units, thanks to the MOVES Singular Projects II program - 2nd Call for Proposals and in collaboration with Serpista. These units are already operating at Tenerife Sur and Malaga airports, optimizing efficiency and reducing emissions for our client Menzies Aviation. This achievement reinforces our commitment to innovation and a more sustainable future in the airport industry.

In a world where sustainability is key to the future of transportation, the airport industry faces the challenge of reducing its environmental impact without compromising operational efficiency. At Air Rail, we are committed to this transformation, investing in innovative solutions that optimize airport mobility.

Thanks to the support of the MOVES Singular Projects II program - 2nd Call for Proposals and in collaboration with Serpista, we have taken a significant step along this path: the electrification of two TMX150 units, a key improvement in the modernization of our fleet.

Electrification as a response to the environmental challenge

The airport sector relies heavily on specialized ground handling vehicles and equipment, many of which have traditionally operated on fossil fuels. This model, while efficient in the past, generates polluting emissions that contribute to climate change and affect air quality at airports.

Transitioning to electrified fleets is one of the most effective strategies to reduce this impact. At Air Rail, we understand that the adoption of clean and efficient technology is not only a responsibility, but an opportunity to improve the way we operate.

Innovation in action: the electrified TMX150s

As part of this effort, we have carried out the electrification of two TMX150 units, which are already in operation at Tenerife Sur and Malaga airports. This upgrade has been key for our customer Menzies Aviation, allowing them to optimize their ground operations with more sustainable and high-performance equipment.

The benefits of this electrification include:

Reduction of polluting emissions, contributing to the improvement of air quality in the airport environment.

Lower energy consumption, resulting in more efficient and sustainable operation.

Noise reduction, improving working conditions at airports and reducing the acoustic impact on nearby areas.

Increased operating efficiency, as electrical equipment requires less maintenance and has a longer service life.

This project is a clear example of how innovation and technology can work together to move the airport industry towards a cleaner and more responsible model.

Commitment to a sustainable future

This achievement is just the beginning. At Air Rail, we continue to explore new solutions to transform the airport sector through electrification and the adoption of more efficient technologies. Our commitment to sustainability drives us to continually seek improvements in our equipment and processes, aligning ourselves with global goals for emissions reduction and energy efficiency.

We thank everyone who has made this progress possible, from our strategic allies to our work team, whose efforts have been key to materializing this transformation.

🌱 The future of airport transportation is electric, efficient and sustainable. At Air Rail, we are ready to lead this change.

Let's keep moving forward together towards cleaner and more responsible mobility!

PRM: The importance of an essential service that continues to evolve

Mobility for People with Reduced Mobility (PRM) is an essential service at airports, although it often goes unnoticed. Nuria Placeres' recent reflection reminds us of its importance and invites us to recognize the work of all the teams that make it possible. At Air Rail, we are proud to contribute to the national manufacturing of Ambulifts and PRM equipment present throughout Spain, including our first 100% electric units incorporated in recent months.
