Beyond the vehicle: how Yutong batteries are recycled

Yutong's commitment to sustainability does not end with the delivery of the vehicle. Through a comprehensive battery recycling process, it reduces the ecological impact and promotes a circular economy that gives new life to materials... and to many communities.

At Yutong, we understand that sustainability is not just a design goal, but a principle that must accompany every stage of the vehicle's life cycle.

And when we talk about electric mobility, this commitment also involves what happens after use: the treatment of the batteries.

Therefore, Yutong has implemented a comprehensive recycling program that guarantees a second life for the batteries, promoting both environmental care and positive social impact.

The process includes:

♻️ Responsible collection and sorting of batteries.

🔍 Identification and recovery of critical materials.

🔋 Reuse of components in new energy storage systems.

And the impact is not just ecological: many of these recycled batteries find a new purpose in community applications such as:

🏫 Energy systems for rural schools.

☀️ Solar charging stations.

💡 Public lighting in remote areas.

This approach closes the product life cycle in a conscious way, fostering a true circular economy where every part of the vehicle continues to provide value even after it stops rolling.

Because at Yutong and Air Rail, sustainability is not just about reducing emissions, it's also about taking responsibility for what we leave behind and how we reuse it to build something better.
